A different kind of owie

Right now, I have the kind of owie you get from plunging an overeager hand into your purse to not-quietly rummage around for another piece of Almond Roca during the Nutcracker, and slicing it on the can. Why the hell do almond roca makers need to put it in a deathtrap can? Do I care if it's fancy?

So it's my fingertip, that hurts when I type. Owie.

I have gotten my own Comcast account, switched my phone into my name. And got a new bed and mattress (they're delivering it any minute), opened a new bank account, put my car in just my name, completed divorce papers, approached account reps with an old passport to set up things in my maiden name, dominated my own modem/coax/router arrangement, made about eleven coworkers cry with my divorce (why? I'm not crying. You guys, in this situation, don't get mad. Get single. And get bloggy). I also lost a couple of pounds.

I got paint samples to repaint my room. I hunted down the camera I will be buying to photograph my new girly-room's awesomeness with. I bought a tool set that is all pink. I swear to you, the level and even the measuring tape, are motherhugging pink. I believe some pre-divorce cuckold working for the tool company made a bunch of her coworkers really uncomfortable with her uncontrollable crying, and they panicked and let her in on a product management meeting, and that's what came of it. And the girls working at Walmart saw it in my cart, and acted like it was the Messiah on the eastern horizon. It's the Just Got Single girly tool kit.

I'm also getting my hair done today. Not cuz it's time for my hair to be done. But because the great state of Utah won't notarize my divorce papers because my license is 2 weeks expired. Which means I have to get a new picture. Which means I have to get my roots done.

So I am officially that girl whose divorce rides on her salon's next opening.

How in the world are you getting things to move so quickly? Is it prying too much to ask when you found out the dark truth? From what I can assume.. you are pretty damn quick on the draw and you don't waste any time.

Not prying. I am merely in shock. Things had been gloomy with him for some time, and I knew he was getting distant so I was somewhat subconsciously prepared. But I found out The Dark Truth a week and a half ago and have just been in a trance of rage ever since. I'm aware that this period of adrenaline and fight/flight hormones will wear off and I won't have the get-up-and-go that I have right now. So I'm making the most of it before the anger succumbs to sadness. I have an incredible support group and rely on it entirely to get through my days.

I don't want him to think for one second that I'd second guess myself on This One. So I have made it happen as quickly as I could.

You are such a freaking rock star! Run with it babe! I love the progress, and seriously, if I could have just an ounce of your momentum I could make miracles in my own life. Like finish the last load of laundry type of miracles. I am so excited for your future. And Julie can be your new wingman. Awesome!
